Fu Xuan Changes EVERYTHING! F2P Fu Xuan Guide & Build | Honkai: Star Rail

Have you ever had one character get targeted over and over? And over and over and over?

The first unkillable, anti-RNG character has arrived, and she’s amazing at most things except being taller than 4’9”.

More quantum characters will always be good for Honkai: Star Rail, since the element is so powerful. But Fu Xuan isn’t good because she’s quantum…

She’s good because she invalidates all of the content in the game.

So what makes Fu Xuan so strong?

Fu Xuan is the second Preservation character to have pink hair, but she’s the FIRST Preservation character to not use shields. And that’s because she simply doesn’t need them.

Fu Xuan scales on HP, and her goal is to take a major portion of your teams damage, lower it, and redirect it to her. With her skill, she turns her mitigation on, and absorbs a majority of your teams damage whenever they’re hit. But not only that; she ALSO gives your team an HP buff, and a Crit Rate buff! And with one of her traces unlocked, she’s able to give your teammates one “automatic resist” to crowd control from enemies, which can be INSANE for saving time and your units.

Your whole team becomes more sustainable AND has their damage taken FORCED to be taken by Fu Xuan. So your Tingyun is safe! For now.

You might be wondering, “how does Fu Xuan survive if she takes all that damage?” Well, Fu Xuan has the ability to heal herself and her team.

Fu Xuan has a stack counter by her portrait in battle, and when you start a fight, she begins with 1 stack. EVERY TIME YOU USE HER ULTIMATE, SHE GAINS A STACK up to a maximum of 2 at a time. With one of her later traces, she also heals all of your team based on her max HP.

When Fu Xuan falls below 50% HP, she instantly heals a large portion of her HP back, making her an unkillable preservation machine. Her entire kit lets you solo most of the content in the game, but with a team its even stronger.

Here’s how to build Fu Xuan!

Fu Xuan is HP scaling, so we want her to have a TON of HP. But because the damage she takes from her damage share ability is affected by her defenses and resistances, both DEF and Resistances are valuable. She needs her ultimate to self-sustain, and the faster a character is, the more skill points and energy they can generate in the right setups.

In Fu Xuan’s case, she ends up being okay with any set that gives HP%, SPD, DEF%, or Damage Resistance.

Those sets would be 2 pieces of Longevous Disciple, Messenger in Hackerspace, Knight of Purity Palace, and Guard of Wuthering Snow. Mix any of those 2 piece sets.

For your planar sets, Broken Keel or Fleet of the Ageless should be your go-to for some team-wide buffs and bonus stats!

As far as stats go, here’s what you want on Fu Xuan

Chest – HP% or DEF%

Boots – HP%, DEF% or SPD

Orb – HP% or DEF%

Rope – HP%, DEF% or Energy Regen%

I personally recommend going with 2 HP% pieces and 1 DEF% piece, since that allows for high effective HP and tankiness, while also leaving room for Energy Regen or SPD Boots! But ultimately this character is incredibly difficult to NOT get value out of; as long as you give her tons of HP%, she’s going to do wonders for your account.

What Light Cone is best for Fu Xuan?

You might be tempted to pull for her She Already Shut Her Eyes, Fu Xuan’s signature Light Cone. And there’s nothing wrong with that, as it’s the best Preservation Light Cone in the game by a long shot.

But what if I told you, there was a free to play Light Cone that’s almost as good as her signature?

Texture of Memories is the free Herta Shop Light Cone for Preservation characters, and before Fu Xuan, it was a bad Light Cone. But it’s actually perfect for Fu Xuan, since it provides a shield to the wearer based on their HP, and gives the wearer damage resistance. This Light Cone makes Fu Xuan truly undefeatable.

If you don’t want to spend your Herta currency, you can also opt for Landau’s choice, which is her best 4-star option since it gives her a taunt and damage reduction, Day One of My New Life is amazing for the damage reduction, and We Are Wildfire in a worst case scenario.

All in all, Fu Xuan’s got quite a few Light Cone choices, but these are some of your best. Here’s a chart of Light Cones showing actual HP vs Effective HP, which is Fu Xuan’s TRUE sustainability. Pick the one that gives you the most effective HP and is available to you.

What Teams should I play with Fu Xuan?

Literally. Any of them.

Fu Xuan is such a powerful unit on her own that it doesn’t really matter what characters you bring with, because she’ll be plenty strong.

But if you want to really minmax, pairing her with Silver Wolf is going to be the best thing you can do. Having 2 Quantum on a team and filling it in with 2 other units of the same element will make your Silver Wolf teams a LOT stronger, and reduce the RNG you have to deal with from Silver Wolf’s skill!

Here’s some team options, but keep in mind you don’t need to follow any of these exactly. Fu Xuan may not be tall, but she is incredibly flexible!
