Return Policy
Scope and Application
This U.S. Return Policy is applicable to new desktop computer systems purchased directly from iBUYPOWER.com and is offered to the original purchaser who has shipped to a domestic U.S. address.
- For computer systems purchased directly from iBuypower.com and shipped outside the U.S., e.g., APO/FPO, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, please see our International Return Policy below for additional information and conditions.
- For computer systems purchased directly from a retailer, such as BestBuy, Amazon, Costco, etc., the policy conditions below regarding returns for refund are not applicable; please contact the store from which your product was purchased. The policy conditions below regarding returns for repair are still applicable.
Money-Back Satisfaction Guarantee
iBUYPOWER is confident that you will be completely satisfied with your iBUYPOWER computer. However, should you be unsatisfied for any reason, we offer you the option to return most products you purchase directly from iBUYPOWER. For all purchases not made directly from iBUYPOWER.com, please check the return policy of the location from which you purchased your product.
- New Desktop and Laptop Computers: 60-Days
- Refurbished Desktop and Laptop Computers: 30-Days
Money-Back Guarantee Conditions and Exclusions
- The money-back guarantee does NOT apply to computer systems purchased directly from a retailer or other third-party sellers. You must contact the retailer and follow their return policy for any returns for refund. There are no exceptions to this policy.
- This guarantee only extends to the original purchaser on the billing record and credits will be provided back to the original form of payment. Any products, including “free” promotional items, not returned will be deducted from the credited amount.
- This guarantee does NOT include shipping, handling and rush service fees. It does not extend to opened software, additional parts/peripherals, special order merchandise, or any custom-made products. Products that have been customized/modified by the customer will not be accepted.
- Products that have been physically damaged, neglected, or abused by the customer, or if any “void if removed” warranty stickers are removed, cannot be accepted for full refund.
- Under no circumstances shall iBUYPOWER provide a refund amount that exceeds the purchase price of the computer.
- Software may NOT be returned at any time unless the software being returned is:
- Application software or Microsoft Windows operating systems installed by iBUYPOWER on a returnable system which is being returned within the applicable return period; or
- Media-based software that is unopened and still in its sealed package or, if delivered electronically, software that you have not accepted by clicking "I agree to these Terms and Conditions."
- For Colorado customers, in accordance with the Colorado Department of Revenue, the Colorado Retail Delivery Fee is nonrefundable. For more information about the Colorado Retail Delivery Fee, please visit https://tax.colorado.gov/retail-delivery-fee.
- For Minnesota customers, in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Revenue, the Minnesota Retail Delivery Fee (Road Improvement and Food Delivery Fee) is nonrefundable. Promotional Items
- If you return a purchased item that qualified you for a discount, promotional item or promotional gift card and either (i) do not also return the discounted or promotional item or (ii) have already redeemed the promotional card, iBUYPOWER may deduct the value of the discount, promotional item or redeemed card from any refund you receive for the return of the purchased item.
- If you return a purchased item that qualified you for a promotional “Free Shipping” discount, iBUYPOWER will deduct $75 for the value of the shipping discount from any refund you receive for the return of the purchased item.
Procedures for Obtaining Warranty Service
RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Policy:
All returns require preapproval by iBUYPOWER and an RMA number to be issued before sending any product back to our facility. Before issuing an RMA number, iBUYPOWER will verify the warranty status and determine whether the product can be covered under the appropriate warranty or not. You must be able to provide proof of purchase and the computer serial number to assist in this determination.
Shipping costs back to iBUYPOWER on any item returned are generally the sender’s responsibility and expense. iBUYPOWER recommends that the shipment is insured, or accept the risk of loss or damage during shipment. iBUYPOWER will cover shipping costs back to the customer for warranty repairs or replacement parts and will accept the risk of loss or damage; however, iBUYPOWER will not pay for return shipping costs from outside the U.S., e.g., APO/FPO, Canada, and U.S. Territories.
- iBUYPOWER may cover shipping costs both ways on a case-by-case basis and will be determined at the time the RMA is issued.
- For returns outside the domestic U.S., e.g., APO/FPO, Canada, and U.S. Territories, please see our International Warranty Statement for additional information and conditions.
- iBUYPOWER will not reimburse shipping costs under any circumstances. If return shipping is provided by iBUYPOWER, it will be done by providing pre-paird shipping labels.
- No COD packages will be accepted.
Types of RMA Returns. Depending on the situation, the following RMA options may be available:
- Refund RMA – issued for computer systems and Gear Store items being returned for an approved refund, full or partial. All peripherals and extra items must be returned to obtain the maximum refund; anything missing may be deducted from the refund/credit. Some fees, such as shipping and rush, may be non-refundable. Some other exclusions and restocking fees may apply. Refund/credits will not be processed until the products are received, inspected, disassembled, and processed through the finance department. Please allow time for the financial institution to post the credit back to your account.
- Normal RMA Parts Exchange – issued to replace individual components and peripherals that have been determined to defective. This RMA allows products to be returned for direct exchange, i.e. the customer sends the products first to iBUYPOWER and we will replace or exchange according to the warranty conditions described above. Generally, there is no additional charge for this method other than the shipping costs, if applicable, as described above.
- Advance RMA Parts Exchange – issued to replace individual components and peripherals that have been determined to defective. This RMA allows the customer to first receive the replacement part, after which the customer will send the defective part back to iBUYPOWER. This method requires collateral, whereby iBUYPOWER has to charge the value of the product(s) in advance on a valid credit card and upon prompt receipt of the defective items, the full amount of the product(s) will be credited/refunded back to the credit card according to the conditions above. All parts must be returned within 30 days for us to process the refund/credit.
- Repair RMA – issued for computer system repairs, including desktop and laptops. A full description of the issue should be provided to ensure our technicians can pinpoint the issue and provide the appropriate repair or replacement. Return only the computer system; do not return peripherals, software, or the power cord to avoid loss or failure to return.
Authorized iBUYPOWER Service Providers
iBUYPOWER has partnered with trusted companies to provide alternative locations for authorized repairs still under warranty.
- Microcenter – certified technicians provide expert repairs using genuine manufacturer parts, ensuring your computer receives the highest quality care. Your computer can be dropped off at any of Microcenter’s several locations throughout the U.S. You must provide Microcenter with a valid proof of purchase and the serial number must be present and legible for them to verify your warranty status. Once verified, an RMA number will be obtained and any needed repair parts will be ordered. Software installation is not covered under this agreement and any additional services requested by the computer owner are not covered under this warranty. Additional information can be found here.
- ASI Computer Technologies (Canada) Corp – ASI provides authorized warranty repair for iBUYPOWER computers located within Canada. Referrals must be initiated, authorized, and coordinated by iBUYPOWER. The ASI service center is located in Toronto; packaging and shipping will be the responsibility of the computer owner, however, iBUYPOWER will cover return shipping costs. You must contact iBUYPOWER and obtain an RMA number prior to engaging the services of the repair center, otherwise you may be liable for costs associated with your repair.
Procedures and Additional Information for Returning RMA Products
Packages received by iBUYPOWER without prior authorization from iBUYPOWER will be considered an unauthorized return, and iBUYPOWER reserves the right to take no action with the return; such products will not be accepted and may or may not be returned to sender. The RMA should be written on the outside of the package to ensure proper identification; delays in processing may occur for packages received without the RMA clearly known.
RMA numbers are valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issuance. All approved returns must be received by iBUYPOWER within 30 days of the date that iBUYPOWER issues the return authorization and instructions. If an RMA becomes invalid after 30 days, the RMA will either need to be re-approved or a new RMA will be issued. Any shipping labels provided to you by iBUYPOWER must be used within the validity period, generally 2 weeks, and will not be reissued without valid cause and re-authorization.
Obtaining an RMA number does NOT guarantee acceptance as a warranty transaction unless the product is RECEIVED before the warranty expiration. Products received after the warranty expiration date will be processed as an out-of-warranty product and any replacement parts will incur charges at the current prices.
The sender assumes full responsibility to ensure the computer or parts are packed properly to avoid any physical damage caused during shipping. iBUYPOWER recommends retaining and utilizing original boxes and packaging, including internal foam if applicable, or a similar well-protected box, as outlined in our Packing Instructions. iBUYPOWER will not be responsible for shipping damage caused by improperly or inadequately packed product.
To obtain an RMA number, please have the following information ready:
- Billing Name on purchase record
- Shipping address
- Telephone number
- Email address (or status updates and shipment notifications)
- Computer serial number from the rear of the chassis
- Purchase proof or invoice
- Detailed description of the issue you are experiencing
For product issues or failures, we recommend you first contact our technical support for troubleshooting. For other customer service issues, such as parts swaps, missing items, billing issues, shipment inquiries, etc., please contact our customer service department. You may also initiate an RMSA request at our Contact Us page.
Note: Before you return the product to iBUYPOWER, make sure to back up any data on the hard drive(s) and on any other storage device in the product. Remove all confidential, proprietary and personal information, as well as removable media and devices, such as flash drives, and dongles. iBUYPOWER is not responsible for any confidential, proprietary or personal information; lost or corrupted data; or damaged or lost removable media that may be included with your return. Remove any internal hardware that was added and not part of the original component list from iBUYPOWER prior to the return. If you choose not to remove any hardware that was added, please notify iBUYPOWER in advance so that we can take appropriate precautions to safeguard those items and ensure they are returned properly.
Return Shipping Labels
iBUYPOWER reviews each RMA on a case-by-case basis under strict guidelines. If an RMA is deemed eligible for iBUYPOWER to cover return shipping costs, there are two types of labels that may be offered.
- UPS Mobile Returns – this option is best used for someone who 1) doesn’t have access to a printer, or 2) has discarded the original packaging and requires assistance in packaging the computer for return transit, and 3) who has a The UPS Store or UPS Access Point near their location. You would be sent an email containing a QR code, which can be taken to UPS, who will scan it and print the label for you. UPS will also pack the computer for you free of charge and, therefore, be liable for any shipping damage that may occur.
- FedEx Returns – this option requires you to pack the computer yourself, print the return shipping label that would be emailed to you, and drop off at any nearby FedEx Office location. They will not pack the computer for you and you would be liable for shipping damage that is deemed to be caused by improper packaging.
Shipping the RMA Return
iBUYPOWER recommends that the shipment is insured, or accept the risk of loss or damage during shipment.
It is very important that the RMA number appears clearly on outside the package in order to avoid delays and confusion. Ship the computer, packaged well and insured, to:

International Return Policy
Scope and Application
This International Return Policy is applicable to new desktop computer systems purchased directly from iBUYPOWER.com and is offered to the original purchaser only who has shipped the computer system outside the U.S., e.g., APO/FPO, Canada, and U.S. Territories.
International Conditions and Exclusions
The above policy conditions apply, with the following exceptions:
- iBUYPOWER will cover shipping costs back to the customer for warranty repairs or replacements and will accept the risk of loss or damage; however, iBUYPOWER will not pay for return shipping costs from outside the U.S., e.g., APO/FPO, U.S. Territories, etc.
- For Canadian shipments, iBUYPOWER may cover shipping costs both ways on a case-by-case basis and will be determined at the time the RMA is issued.
- iBUYPOWER does not have the ability to provide return shipping labels for APO/FPO addresses.
- iBUYPOWER will not reimburse shipping costs under any circumstances. If return shipping is provided by iBUYPOWER, it will be done by providing shipping labels only.
- All costs on iBUYPOWER.com are shown in U.S. Dollar (USD) currency. Any payments will be made in USD, regardless of the current conversion rates. Any credits or refunds will be made in USD, regardless of the current conversion rates; iBUYPOWER will not perform any currency conversions prior to any charges or credits.
