Genshin Impact Lynette Build and Quick Guide
Lynette is the new free-to-play 4-star in Genshin Impact, and while some players might say she’s not great, Lynette definitely changes the game for both newer and older Genshin players.
When you start the game, Genshin Impact gives you a few free characters. The first one is Aether/Lumine, who will eventually have access to all of the elements in the game. Their kit is typically pretty underwhelming depending on the element, but we can hope that each element brings something unique. Typically, the characters that players are more excited about are some of the other starters like Lisa and Kaeya. Genshin Impact ALSO gives you Amber, Barbara from AR20, and Xiangling and Collei from Spiral Abyss. At this point, the only elements you’re missing in a free character are Anemo and Geo, and luckily for new players, Lynette is that new free anemo that’s available at AR25.
So what does she do that makes her so great? Why is she better than Anemo traveler?
Sure, Anemo traveler is usable, but they feel clunky and take a long time to execute their abilities. Lynette brings a much lower-maintenance kit to the table. Her skill is a quick jab of Anemo damage that can also be held down to dash quickly like Yelan (albeit slower). She generates 4 particles with her skill which is pretty solid for Anemo battery, and it’s on a short 12 second cooldown. She also is an Ousia character, meaning she’s extra useful against enemies that require Ousia aspected damage (let’s leave Ousia and Pneuma for another day). She’ll quickly heal a large portion of her HP (25%) when casting her skill, and slowly drain another 6% a second for 4 seconds. So she’s net positive 1% HP! Wow! Very cool Lynette!

Her burst is a taunt that also dishes out Anemo damage and costs 70 energy. That burst can be infused, and her 2nd passive increases her burst’s damage by a fair bit after infusion. With her first passive, she grants the team an ATK% buff based on the amount of different elements you have in your team after you burst, which can be incredibly helpful in certain teams.

All in all, Lynette’s kit at constellation 0 is suited to quick Anemo swirls and low field time. She may not be as versatile as Sucrose, but she’s an excellent pick for many teams where you would want an Anemo unit.
Why you want an Anemo unit: Lynette’s best build
All characters need Artifacts to maximize their potential, and for Anemo units, many of them want one specific set.
The Viridescent Venerer set allows any Anemo character to drastically increase your team’s damage output, and it’s incredibly suitable to units with support capabilities like Lynette. By swirling an element, you’re DRASTICALLY lowering enemy resistances to that element, allowing your characters to deal a ton more damage at the low cost of having one single artifact set equipped.
When combined with her burst and skill, Viridescent is too strong of a set to pass up. However, because Lynette’s burst costs 70 energy and she also doesn’t spend too much time on-field, she needs a TON of energy recharge.
For a C0 Lynette, your best bet to get the most out of her is to use an Energy Recharge Sands, Anemo Damage Goblet, and a Crit Rate or Damage Circlet. That way, you can get her burst up every rotation while still dishing out damage.
Here’s how much Energy Recharge Lynette needs:
Without Favonius or Sacrificial Sword – 280%
Off-field with Favonius Sword – 250%
Off-field with Sacrificial Sword – 210%
On-field with Favonius Sword – 160%
On-field with Sacrificial Sword – 110%
Speaking of swords, for Lynette’s weapon, you want to stick with Sacrificial Sword or Favonius Sword in order to make sure her burst is always ready. I personally prefer Sacrificial, but Favonius is a good second option.
There is also a NEW free-to-play weapon if you don’t have any Sacrificial or Favonius copies, but it requires you to fish a fair bit. With that said, it’s a fantastic option that lowers your energy recharge requirements to be closer to Favonius.
What’s Lynette’s best team?
Well, that depends.
Her build is SUPER easy at C0! Her constellations change her a fair bit though. If you manage to get C1, she gets some grouping utility, and at C4 she gets an extra charge on her skill to help with battery. At C6, she gets an anemo infusion on her weapon after using her skill, which lets you play her on-field!
At C6, in a taser team setup, she can be played with Elemental Mastery on every artifact piece, allowing her to dish out a TON of damage!
Taser (Xingqiu or Beidou can be substituted for Yelan)
Without C6, she fits well in any of the teams below as a fantastic anemo support that also dishes out a bit of her own damage with her skill and burst!
Lyney Mono-pyro (Xiangling can be subbed for Dehya or Zhongli)
Reverse-melt
Mono-anemo
Despite what some folks may say, Lynette is a great roster addition to the game for her quick bursts of damage and support capabilities! If you want even MORE details about how to play Lynette, check out my guide here!
